Today i’m choosing to talk about how to wear an olive green coloured jersey with an all black or white outfit.
Pick any piece of menswear and there’s a solid chance it’s done a tour in the armed forces. This is exactly where I drew the inspiration for this outfit. Admittedly, it helps that khaki, in general, is pretty much neutral, which means you can pair it with just about anything. Khaki looks good with black, so dress it down with black denim. White and brown make equally happy roommates and if you feel like conforming to the rules or standards, flanking it with blue makes for a more decidedly modern pairing.
Military-inspired knitwear sounds some what sketchy, but fortunately, it’s only the colour I am after here. Using different shades of green to simple pieces, especially when worn under outerwear, also means there’s room to play with bolder shades.
With so many bold color palettes to choose from for the upcoming winter months, now is the best time to try out a shade you arent regularly drawn towards. Whether you’re always playing around with color combinations or you’re as committed as I am to the safety of black and white, there’s an Autumn neutral I think you should absolutely try this season. Every Autumn, people talk about the rich seasonal hues but today we’re proving that it’s olive green which mixes so well with everything you already own.
No matter which style tribe you follow, and hopefully that’s me, there’s an olive-green outfit that will speak to you. From bold trendy outgoing outfits to polished classics and everything in between, I am positive that there’s an outfit combination that will inspire you to mix the green shade into your fall outfit rotation.
Due to the very nature of the shade, black has a mysterious bad side about it. Wear an all-black look and chances are you’ll instantly feel a little cooler than you did a moment ago. All-black is cool. And it’s surprisingly easy to pull off.
But how can you wear it everyday ? Unlike other colours, there’s no chance of clashing by choosing two garments that are similar in tone – there’s no such thing as different shades of black. Instead, all-black mastery comes in pairing contrasting fabrics, just like olive green which subtly breaks up a look while adding a stylish and warm welcoming dash of texture.
So today i chose to wear a military inspired cotton jersey from Cotton-On, dressing it down with the all black outfit which kicks it up a notch. Black ripped jeans from Zara man, Under t-shirt from H&M and bomber jacket from Italy. Last but not least my converse, that were personalized through the narrow historic streets of Napoli.
To conclude, Across fashion week’s streets, bloggers are seemingly obsessed with army green too, using the olive-inspired shade to add a practical touch to their looks. Military green jerseys add an interesting tone to grey or black basics without making too much of a statement. So picking up any clues from fashion month about what to wear this autumn , it’s this: You can never wear too much army green. Pair it up with neutral colors to create a clean cut look or be daring to wear it with a bright color pallet. The sky’s the limit and wear what makes you tick.
